Learning More About RDA

I was very glad to learn today that the CILIP Cataloguing and Indexing Group have set up an E-Forum on 24th-25th October 2012, 10am-4.30pm (UK time, GMT+1) to discuss examples of RDA cataloguing. Participants in the forum are given access to the resource RDA Toolkit (a resource technically similar to the currentCatalogers' Desktop.) They are also given access to ten FACET books for which they are encouraged to create test RDA records: the records that the users then create will be discussed during the forum. See http://www.cilip.org.uk/get-involved/special-interest-groups/cataloguing-indexing/eforums/pages/practicalrda.aspx And it's free for anyone to join (first come first served and places are limited though.)

I have registered for the resource and eforum and looked at the training material: it's good to keep one's professional hand in and be reminded of the principles of RDA even if they will not being used in my current workplace any time soon.
