"Text and Data Mining allows a user, through digital techniques, to explore large collections of textual material, extract new datasets and, through analysis, find out new information about a topic." Some librarians have been thinking about how libraries could help support this, for instance by producing guidance on the subject or even hosting a site where data could be stored and mined. In fact you could call it a minefield.
